Banana Milkshake!

This week is Fair Trade Week and we have been learning about the Banana Trade. We made banana milkshake....Yum!

Author and Illustrator Paul Stickland came to Beech Class!

We have been very lucky to have Paul Stickland in our Class today 9/2/12.
He read some of his famous books, like 'Dinosaur Roar' and 'Ten Terrible Dinosaurs', and showed his wonderful pop-up books. The children made pop-up dinosaur cards and had fun all afternoon! To see more of his beautiful drawings and stories please go to

Volcano

As part of our Dinosaur topic, we have been looking at volcanoes. We made our own volcano using a base of water, bicarbonate of soda, washing up liquid and food colouring into which we added vinager to create a chemical reaction. All this was in a jar and it did erupt!

The Pre-School children came to visit us and we showed them what we do in our class.

Cinderella's slipper

This week we looked at the story of Cinderella and decided to make our own slipper. The children worked hard designing their slipper and choosing the fabric they liked.
