The Olympic Challenge

Sporting events today have many rules unlike those in Ancient times. The children in Willow Class were challenged to devise a simple game of their own with rules for competitors to follow. The children thoroughly enjoyed teaching their new games to the class.

CLP Dance Festival March 2012

Willow Class took part in the CLP Dance Festival held at Huish Academy on the 21st March 2012. The children worked very hard over a period of 7 weeks to perfect their 'Victorian' dance which they performed on stage in front of a huge audience. The event was a great success and the children were congratulated on their excellent performance.

Gymnastics Day

Using Electricity

This week the children have been learning about electricity. They have constructed simple circuits and investigated why some do not work.

Baking Harvest Bread

In Willow Class the children have been finding out how different foods grow and are harvested. We looked very closely at wheat and the role it has in producing bread. Here are some photographs of the children making their very own Harvest Sheaf.

Willow and Elm classes walk to Burrow Hill (September 2011)

Watching ice melt couldn't be more interesting...

In Science this term the children in Willow Class have been exploring how water changes when it is heated or cooled. One activity involved the children each creating an ice balloon to explore how it melts. They used observation and questioning skills to examine the properties of ice. Lyme Regis Trip June 2011

On the 9th of June Elm, Willow and Beech classes went to Lyme Regis for the day. We went to the Lifeboat Station, The Marine Aquarium and enjoyed making sand sculptures on the sandy beach to support our topic about 'Water'.

CLP Dance Festival April 2011

Willow Class took part in the CLP Dance Festival which was held at Edgar Hall in Somerton. The children performed on stage in front of a big audience along with 6 other local primary schools. Well done Willow Class!

Westhay Nature Reserve March 2011

On the 10th of March Willow class went to Westhay Nature Reserve for the day. The children were involved in various activities to support our topic about 'Animals'.
