A belated welcome back for the start of our new academic year and a particularly warm welcome to our new parents and children. We hope that the children settle quickly and make new friendships.

I hope that everyone had an enjoyable summer break and thank you for sending the children back to school looking so smart.

Holidays in Term Time
As of September 2011 new regulations have been brought into effect that restricts the authorisation of holidays in term time. We are no longer able to authorise holidays in term time, but we do still require parents to notify us of the intention to take children out of school. Failure to do this will mean that the child's absence will be marked as unauthorised. Please request a form from the Office.

Car Parking
I am sending out a letter from the Police Community Support Officer with regards to parking safely and considerately outside the school.

Parent Readers
Last year parents gave up their time to come in and read to children, which was very successful and something the children found rewarding. We are always looking for new parents who can spare some time to come in and read with children. If you have time and would like to do this please let the Office know and we will arrange things.

Parents' Evenings
A date for your diary - the 9th and 10th of November. It is always good to attend these meetings as it is a good opportunity to get to meet your child's class teachers and see how they are settling in. I look forward to seeing you there!

Uniform and PE Kit
PLEASE, PLEASE make sure your child's PE kit is in school every day of the week and is clearly marked.

Please make sure your child has correct school uniform and correct PE kit. PE kit should consist of a white T-shirt, burgundy shorts, plimsolls or training shoes in a named bag. The official school uniform is burgundy school sweatshirt/sweatcardi, white polo shirt, grey or black school trousers/grey or black school shorts/plain grey or black skirt and sensible dark shoes. Please label your child's clothing! We try to run an efficient lost clothing operation and return clothing that is named, swiftly to the owners - please help us.

We are happy to take donations of school sweatshirts/t-shirts etc. and we will keep a list in the Office of all the secondhand uniform that is available to buy.
