Dear Parents

As half term approaches I would like to thank you for all your patience and understanding throughout all the changes that have taken place. It has been a busy time for staff and children and as the run up to Christmas begins, we can expect this to continue.

I also want to thank you all for completing the questionnaires at the Parents' Evenings, your opinions and support is greatly valued.

Timetable
With effect from Monday 1st November we are re-shaping the school timetable to enable us to offer the children greater opportunities in the school curriculum. The main change to this will see the whole school taking part in a 'Wake and Shake' activity at the start of the day before going in to the classroom.

Karen Crisp
We are pleased to be able to tell you that from after half-term the Governors have appointed Karen Crisp as our Assistant Headteacher. Karen will be responsible for working with and supporting the whole school as well as deputising for me in my absence.

Appointment of Elm Class Teacher
We have appointed Alison Mitcham as Elm Class teacher from January 2011. Alison is very friendly and approachable and will make a great addition to our team. She will be getting to know Elm Class next half term during various visits.

Huge Thanks
I would like to express my thanks to the PTA for their kind donation which has enabled us to buy new benches for lunchtime and a new school noticeboard.

Parking
We would like to remind you not to park in the Disabled Parking spaces or near the zigzag areas marked outside the front of the school.

Uniform
Please check all your child's uniform because a number of parents have reported named sweatshirts/sweatcardis missing.

'100' Club
We would like to encourage you all to complete the '100' Club application forms. This is a very valuable fundraising event which greatly helps the school to financially maintain the swimming pool.

Half Term
Just to remind you that school closes for Half Term this Friday, 22nd October and we re-open on Monday 1st November.

Enjoy the break and I look forward to seeing everyone on the 1st November, ready for the busy time that will be the run up to Christmas.
