Kingsbury Episcopi Primary School
At Kingsbury Episcopi Primary School we actively encourage children to take part in as many creative and extended provision activities as possible. We are fortunate enough to have a choir and music teacher in the school, Mrs Alison Sowter.
Mrs Sowter provides two music assemblies every week, runs the after-school choir and supports children at local musical events and performances. All music teachers are happy to prepare children for ABRSM and MTB exams and the children have achieved some fantastic results over the years. Mrs Sowter also carries out private piano and violin lessons with individual children. We are fortunate to have a small music room in the main building of the school which is a rare resource. The children in Year 4 also learn Ukeleles during the summer term and then perform their music to the local community at our annual summer fair.
Across KEPS teachers carry out weekly music lessons and they follow the national curriculum programme of study, you can find this in curriculum under music. We perform every year at Party by the Parrett, which is our local music festival.
