Reading Buddies

Our wonderful Year 5 and Year 6 Reading Buddies are an amazing support to our younger readers. They meet with a Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 child each week to further support their skills of decoding and fluency. They hear their buddy read, whilst engaging in conversation with them by asking them questions about the book. Most importantly, they also build relationships with our younger children, in order to provide positive role models who have themselves been successful in learning to read. It's a lovely confidence boost for all involved!
