As part of the government's new initiative for all primary schools to educate children on their future career choices, we have arranged a series of visits from a variety of people working within different sectors of the workforce. This week we had a wonderful visit from Lorna Burdge, a dairy farmer who owns a farm in Somerset. She explained to the children what her job entails, and how other careers (such as vets, lorry drivers and nutritionists) work alongside hers in providing the milk for our tables. The children were so well behaved and engaged, and asked lots of interesting questions at the end - as always, the children did us proud! Later in the term, we are hoping to host visitors from the Rivers Authority, Hinkley Point and the Environment Agency. If you or anybody you know would be happy to come in and talk to the children for 10 minutes about their job, we would be over the moon to welcome you - absolutely all jobs are welcome!
